Polar opposites, no bridge in sight,
Every debate, a bitter fight.
Critical matters, left to decay,
No room for the middle, no way to sway.
Misinformation, a web so tight,
Trust in truth fades from sight.
Political faith, now lost and thin,
Democracy weakened, all from within.
Legislation stuck in endless wait,
Partisan gridlock, the worst to date.
Urgent needs, left in the dark,
National well-being, missing the mark.
Violence threatens, trust betrayed,
This isn't the way forward, we’ve lost our way;
Communities shattered, torn in two,
Neighbors now strangers, what to do?
Communities split by partisan lines,
Isolation grows, as hatred binds.
Fragmented lives, hearts turned cold,
Violence brews, divisions hold.
Helplessness spreads, hope wears thin,
A fractured nation, where to begin?
Stress and fear, anxiety's hold,
A nation's spirit, growing weary, growing cold.
Words of anger, minds in strife,
Dis-ease takes hold, controls your life.
Well-being suffers, hearts scared and bound,
A nation’s soul, burning to the ground.
Yet hope remains, a united vision we will find,
Respectful dialogue, paths aligned.
The common good, above all else,
Will light the way, to save ourselves.
