About HLBI

Human Liberation & Balance Institute

Welcome

At HLBI, we understand that embodied healing arises through the restoration of balance—within ourselves, across our relationships, and throughout our systems.

In a world lost to disconnection, shaped by domination and heavy with inherited trauma, our work is a steady invitation back to wholeness. We walk alongside individuals, communities, and institutions to recover what has been buried: the powerful inner wisdom that lives within us all, and the knowing that a life of balance and well-being is our birthright.

  MISSION

With care and collaboration, we support individuals and communities to unmask how trauma, culture, and systemic forces create and perpetuate disconnection and imbalance, so that we can reclaim the wisdom and purpose rooted within us, and co-create lives and systems designed to sustain well-being, justice, and collective thriving.

   VISION

We envision a world where all people are free to live in alignment with their truth and supported by systems that honor dignity, nourish interconnection, and protect the sacred balance of all life..

A Personal Message From Cindy Lamb, Founder of HLBI

From an early age, I felt an undeniable calling to serve others—a deep pull toward easing pain, offering support, and fostering healing. That call shaped the course of my life and became the foundation of my work.

My journey began in education and expanded into clinical practice, where I’ve spent more than two decades walking alongside others in their most vulnerable moments.

Whether navigating trauma, grief, identity, or transformation, I help people uncover their strength, cultivate clarity, and align with their authenticity.

I’ve come to understand that healing is complex, both a personal journey and a collective responsibility. The systems, power structures, and narratives that shape our lives must also evolve to align with the biological and ecological principles that govern all life.

HLBI Pillars

We hold these as fundamental birthrights, non-negotiable, sacred, and required for healing, balance, and liberation.

Biological Alignment

When imbalance is normalized, we mistake it for strength.

This is the foundation of regulation and resilience. When we are supported biologically, by safe environments, adequate rest, nourishment, and rhythm, we thrive.

But when our bodies are denied safety, rest, or balance, we adapt in unsustainable ways like illness, shutdown, or overdrive.

Systemic Literacy

We mistake generational wounds with personal failure.

Understanding how our bodies and systems function empowers us to name what shapes us.

Without this literacy, we internalize pain as personal failure, never seeing the structures that hold it in place.

Autonomy

& Authenticity

Authenticity becomes a risk instead of a right.

Autonomy is the bedrock of selfhood. It allows us to act in alignment with our soul purpose.

When denied, we fragment, contort, and perform.

Belonging

Relational

We mistake survival strategies for personality traits.

We are wired for connection.

When we are seen, safe, and valued, healing becomes possible.

Without belonging, we isolate, people-please, or armor up.

Collective Wisdom

& Shared Power

Power turns into control, and knowledge is hidden behind gatekeepers.

Wisdom does not belong to one person, group, or tradition. It lives between us.

We grow when we learn from one another and act in service of the greater good.

When hoarded or silenced, wisdom becomes dogma.

& Transparency

Truth-Telling

Silence becomes complicity.

Truth is a liberating force. When we name what is, we reclaim our agency.

In its absence, confusion blinds, harm reigns, and suffering endures.

Justice & Repair

Harm calcifies into culture.

Justice is not vengeance, it is restoration. It brings accountability and creates the conditions for healing.

Without it, harmful cycles repeat.

Stewardship of Life

Short-term gain eclipses long-term responsibility and sustainability.

Stewardship is care with consequence. It calls us to tend to the ecosystems, within and around us, that sustain life.

Without stewardship, we exploit and extract.

Imagination & Posibility

We forget that imagination is the catalyst for evolution.

Imagination is the doorway to transformation. It allows us to envision lives, relationships, and systems that do not yet exist.

Without it, we recycle harm.

We must commitment to restoring what has been harmed.

To honoring what sustains life.

To building lives, relationships, and systems that support our biology.

Birthrights are blueprints for collective thriving, and our work is to bring them into practice, within ourselves, and within the world we are shaping together.

  How We Work

At HLBI, we approach healing and transformation as layered, relational, and systemic - offering tools, insights, and common ground.

We draw from an integrative framework including:

Clinical and Neurobiological Wisdom

Somatic and Experiential Practices

Systems Thinking and Cultural Analysis

Spiritual and Mythopoetic Frameworks

Liberatory Ethics and Trauma-Informed Care

We move at the speed of trust.

We walk alongside.

We support the reclaiming of inner alignment and the reimagining of systems that honor fundamental requirements for well-being.

Our Roots

The Human Liberation & Balance Institute emerged from decades of work in education and mental health—and a deepening understanding of how individual suffering and healing are shaped by cultural and systemic forces.

Reaching beyond my training as a social worker, I began exploring other disciplines, and found myself piecing together a kind of puzzle. Each new layer—neuroscience, systems theory, somatics, spirituality—brought more clarity and questions about how people arrive where they are, and what is required to walk with them through the complexity of their lived experience.

Clinical practice and developmental theory

Trauma-informed care and somatic psychology

Systems thinking, cultural analysis, and justice work

Spiritual traditions, mythic narrative, and ancestral wisdom

Education, embodiment, and ethical leadership

HLBI weaves together insights from:

This is a blending of disciplines crafted into a living framework.

One that honors complexity, centers balance, and makes space for both the personal and the collective.
