In The Land of Dreams

From Darwin's pen, to the minds of men,

Survival of the fittest was sold,

In society’s game, they sought to claim,

The strongest and boldest to mold.

In the land of dreams and capitalist schemes,

Where the dollar rules the day,

A drive to excel, in a race without quell,

Division leads the way.

On frontier's edge, with grit and might,

Survival shaped the state.

A landscape so mean, bred a spirit so keen,

Only the fierce survive their fate.

Through cities of steel, and industrial zeal,

Competition planted its seed.

Workers strive, day and night,

Visions of progress driving their deed.

In markets they fight for the biggest bite,

Where power and profit collide.

Economic wars, behind corporate doors,

Greed and pride widen the divide.

In schools' hallowed halls, where the pressure calls,

With tests and the grading curve's bite,

Children learn young, that the ladder is long,

And each must ascend in height.

The screens aglow, in the media show,

Where winners are crowned as kings,

In sports and TV, the fierce we see,

And the glory that victory brings.

In the land of the free, where the self must be,

The individual reigns supreme.

With eyes set on high, and the personal sky,

In pursuit of the ultimate dream.

Oh, America, with fervent heart,

Where competition thrives,

May unity and peace impart,

Balance to our lives.
