Experience is Multidimentional

Human experience is never confined to a single thought, emotion, behavior, or event. Every moment of our lives is shaped through multiple, interacting dimensions of experience that continually influence one another.

We often describe experience in separate parts—the body, emotions, thoughts, relationships, identity, or spirit—but life is not lived in pieces. These dimensions are continually communicating, influencing one another, and creating the experience of being human.

The Atlas separates them so we can become more curious about how they work together.

How is Life

Every sensation, emotion, thought, belief, memory, and expectation emerges through our ongoing relationships with the world around us and within us. As those relationships evolve, so too does our experience.

No two people experience the world in exactly the same way because no two lives unfold through the same relationships, conditions, and experiences.

This layer of the Atlas invites us to become curious about experience as a source of information. Each experience offers another way of understanding the relationships that shape how life is lived.

The personal impact layer is a reminder that:

  • You are not broken, your response makes sense.

  • What appears as dysfunction are actually signals that your body, spirit, and psyche are overtaxed.
